I was fortunate to view the movie “Dark Blue World” on 5th instant with my friend and thoroughly enjoyed this flick set on the back drops of world war II and in the post war communist era. All the actors have done very well for the success of this movie. The Director has done a marvellous job of recreating the war time european scenerio to perfection. The air battle sequences are captivating. I understand the attack on the train alone cost the producers 50% of their budget. The Director has also taken care not to show the German officers coming to take over the airfield, in poor light. Even the SS Doctor has been portrayed convincingly.
It is an outright sad ending for the heroes of Czech to be imprisoned and humuliated. But they are not alone. The brave German veterans who fought exceedingly well for their Fatherland against unimaginable odds were all discarded by their post war Bundes Govt. In our own country, the brave men and women who fought with our great patriot Subah Chandra Bose, for the liberation of India, were forgotten and there is not a single memorial for these patriots. On the other hand all the military men who fought with our enemy, the British were able to find elevation in ranks and continued in the army. That is sad politics everywhere.
Thanks for showing this wonderful film.
